2016 Outlook
Depth Chart
For a player who has notched YPC of 4.9, 4.3 and 4.6 over the past three years, Mark Ingram has yet to be the fantasy beast he resembles. The Saints tried to limit the pounding he took last season by giving him more than 15 carries only five times (out of twelve games played). To offset those touches, Sean Payton utilized his top runner more in the passing game to a resounding success. Ingramís prowess as a pass catcher saw his reception total hit 50 without playing a full season. The talent and opportunity to produce RB1 numbers is undeniable, however his health woes cannot be overlooked. Heís missed at least three games in all but one of his five years as a pro and went over the 100-yard rushing threshold only once in 2015. Nonetheless, even risk-averse owners may want to take a chance on the enormous upside. Ingram is now entering his prime and rates as a top ten fantasy running back when healthy in all formats. He has virtually no competition to take over his starting job and plays in an offense that loves to rush the ball inside the red zone. His injury history will push him down draft boards and smart Ingram investors will add roster protection through the use of a handcuff or complementary depth at the position.

By: Mike Krueger | Wed Nov 23, 8:00 am

FFToday's Take: Ingram is working through the concussion protocol and while the Saints haven't made it official it sounds like he's passed and will likely play this week against the Rams. Ingram is in timeshare with Tim Hightower capping both of their ceilings at a RB2 level.

Mark Ingram and Tim Hightower will split carries
Saints plan to keep both backs involved moving forward
By: Antonio D'Arcangelis | Tue Nov 8, 2:00 pm

New Orleans
Mark Ingram finally made his way off the bench three series into Sundayís game against the San Francisco 49ers, one week after he was demoted for fumbling for the second game in a row. Now, after a big game from both, Ingram and Tim Hightower will share the load moving forward, according to Saints coaches. (ESPN)

FFToday's Take: It looks like the Saints will stay committed to the run on Sunday as they have for the past two games -- especially since Denver has the NFLís No. 1 passing defense., so both make intriguing fantasy plays.

RBBC in New Orleans?
Tim Hightower earning more snaps
By: Mike Krueger | Mon Oct 31, 10:45 am

New Orleans
#Saints RB Tim Hightower earned more carries for next week's gm vs #49ers, per source. Said team has committee approach no matter starter (Britt McHenry on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: Tim Hightower touched the ball 27 times in Week 8 after Mark Ingram had fumbling issues. Obviously the RBBC is a drain on Ingram's value however both backs have a prime matchup in Week 9 against the 49ers.

Falcons to continue RB timeshare
Devonta Freeman and Tevin Coleman will continue to split carries
By: Antonio D'Arcangelis | Tue Sep 13, 3:50 pm

Atlanta Falcons
Devonta Freeman, the starter, played 36 of 65 offensive snaps while Tevin Coleman played 32. Coleman accumulated 117 total yards on his 13 touches, while Freeman had 40 yards on his 15. The Falcons hope to fix those run-game woes this week against the Oakland Raiders. Last week, the Raiders gave up 88 rushing yards on 22 attempts to Mark Ingram and the New Orleans Saints. The Raiders were 13th in the league against the run last season, surrendering 104.9 rushing yards per game. (ESPN)

FFToday's Take: "We know both these guys are going to be a factor,'' Quinn said. ``We just had two running backs active [Sunday], so for the whole portion of the game, both of them have done significant things really well. Weíre going to utilize them both. Looks like owners will have to get used to the fact that neither will assume a Lamar Miller-type of workhorse role going forward.
