Jets replace Ivory with Matt Forte
30 year-old RB lands in New York
By: Mike Krueger | Wed Mar 9, 4:10 pm

New York Jets
Running back Matt Forte has agreed to a contract with the New York Jets, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter. Forte will replace Chris Ivory, who has agreed to sign with the Jacksonville Jaguars. (ESPN)

FFToday's Take: Forte missed three games last season with a knee injury but was still productive at 30 years of age. It remains to be seen if Bilal Powell will be re-signed, but Forte is projected to be the lead back in any committee situation. He'll be on the RB2 radar in redraft leagues this Summer.

Chris Ivory expected to sign with Jaguars
Jaguars on spending spree
By: Mike Krueger | Tue Mar 8, 8:56 pm

New York Jets
Former Jets' RB Chris Ivory is expected to sign with the Jacksonville Jaguars when new league year begins, per league source. (Adam Schefter on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: The Jaguars are making a splash early in free agency. Reports in the legal tampering period suggest that DE Malik Jackson (DEN) and now Ivory will be headed to Jacksonville. The Jaguars will now sport a running back group of Ivory, T.J. Yeldon and Denard Robinson. Fantasy owners can expect some sort of timeshare with this group and the fantasy values of both Ivory and Yeldon have taken a hit.

Jets sign Dri Archer to reserve/future deal
New York looking to get faster on offense
By: Jake Gordon | Wed Feb 3, 8:10 pm

New York Jets
FLORHAM PARK, N.J. (AP) -- The New York Jets have signed speedy running back-kick returner Dri Archer to a reserve/future contract. The versatile Archer, who has also played wide receiver, was a third-round draft pick by Pittsburgh out of Kent State in 2014. He was waived by the Steelers last November. Jets coach Todd Bowles and general manager Mike Maccagnan recently said they want the team to be faster next season, and Archer fills the bill. (AP-Sports)

FFToday's Take: New York's backfield may undergo a makeover this offseason. The team is expected to watch Chris Ivory get his raise from another organization, and Steven Ridley and Bilal Powell are UFAs. Zac Stacy is signed through the 2016 season but isn't part of the team's long term plans. This is one backfield fantasy owners will need to monitor throughout the offseason.

Ivory done in New York?
Ran for AFC-high 1,070 yards in 2015
By: Doug Orth | Mon Feb 1, 7:50 pm

New York Jets
Chris Ivory's appearance in the Pro Bowl on Sunday night may have been his final game in a New York Jets uniform. He will be an unrestricted free agent next month, and the indicators suggest he will sign elsewhere. Ivory is coming off his most productive season, including an AFC-best 1,070 rushing yards, but there are three factors working against his return: his age (28 next month), his late-season decline, and the Jets' tight salary cap situation. The Jets have seven starters heading to free agency, and Ivory probably is no higher than fourth on the priority list. With only $14 million in projected cap space (a loose projection at this point), there's no way to retain every good player. (ESPN New York)

FFToday's Take: QB Ryan Fitzpatrick, DE Muhammad Wilkerson and NT Damon Harrison are the three players that some expect to be higher on the priority list than the ex-Saint. Ivory is expected to seek at least $4 million per year and should have a fairly robust market for his services, even in what should be a good crop of free-agent runners - one that might include Doug Martin, Lamar Miller and Matt Forte.
