Entering 2010, the Browns planned on keeping McCoy nailed to the bench behind veterans Jake Delhomme and Seneca Wallace, but when injuries struck, McCoy took over, ending up with eight starts. As a rookie, he played with decent poise and produced reasonably well given the sad state of his receiving corps. He threw for 1,576 yards and six touchdowns with nine interceptions. However, a closer look reveals that six of those nine interceptions came in the Browns’ last two games against the powerful Steelers and Ravens defenses. But swap one body part and my grandpa would be my gramma and vice versa. While McCoy looks like he could be good for the Browns in 2011, the same can’t be said for Cleveland’s wide receivers. Mohammad Massaquoi and Brian Robiskie have done nothing in their first two years to suggest they are starter worthy, and rookie third-round pick Greg Little has plenty of talent but missed all of his senior season because of a suspension. That makes McCoy one of the least desirable fantasy options at quarterback but a player worthy of a spot on your dynasty league roster.
FF Today's Take:McCoy will miss yet another game due to his concussion. The only question now is - will McCoy be the Browns starter next season?
QB McCoy still not cleared to practice-- Wed Dec 28 12:23 pm -- Browns likely to keep him out of finale
BEREA, Ohio -- Browns quarterback Colt McCoy still has not been cleared to practice after sustaining a concussion on Dec. 8, and will likely miss the season finale against Pittsburgh.(AP)
FF Today's Take:Expect another week with Seneca Wallace starting for the Browns against another tough divsional opponent in the Steelers. The only player on the Browns worthy of fantasy consideration this week is Peyton Hillis, who will likely receive 20+ touches for the third straight game.
Seneca Wallace likely to start-- Wed Dec 21 3:00 am -- McCoy still recovering from concussion
If Colt McCoy is done as the starting quarterback for the Browns, he will be remembered as a nice guy who could not win a game within the AFC North.
McCoy is 0-8 in the division over two seasons. He won't get the chance to improve that record Saturday in Baltimore because he is still recovering from the concussion he suffered almost two weeks ago in Pittsburgh. Shurmur said "more than likely, for sure," Seneca Wallace will start against Baltimore in what is a critical game for the Ravens.(News-Herald)
FF Today's Take:The good news for fantasy owners is that Seneca Wallace has thrown for a touchdown in each of the seven games he has started since 2009. The bad news is that he hasn't thrown more than one touchdown in those games. Expect the Browns offense to be limited on the road against a disgruntled and motivated Ravens defense in week 16.
Colt McCoy doubtful for Week 16-- Tue Dec 20 6:10 pm -- Brwons QB still hasn't passed concussion tests
FF Today's Take:McCoy (concussion) hasn't practiced all week. Seneca Wallace has taken first team reps and is expected to start against the Cardinals. All Browns offensive players should be avoided.
Seneca Wallace to start for Browns?-- Thu Dec 15 7:15 pm -- Colt McCoy's concussion opens door for backup Wallace
With Colt McCoy still experiencing headaches and not practicing from a concussion suffered in Pittsburgh last week, Wallace, who has spent most of his NFL career as an understudy, will likely start when the Browns (4-9) visit the Arizona Cardinals.(Associated Press)
FF Today's Take:Although McCoy hasn't been officially ruled out this week, smart money is on him sitting out. Wallace may not be a great start for Cleveland but chances are that he won't be that much worse than McCoy at this point of the season.
Colt McCoy misses practice-- Thu Dec 15 6:15 pm -- Concussion symptoms result in McCoy being sent home
FF Today's Take:It doesn't look good for McCoy this week although he hasn't officially been ruled out for Sunday. Expect Seneca Wallace to start in McCoy's place.
