2015 Outlook
Depth Chart
A lot was made of the Broncos’ decision to add Emmanuel Sanders to the offense in place of Eric Decker prior to the 2014 season. Sanders, a smaller, speedier receiver didn’t exactly fit the mold of Decker who is a big, physical receiver that was coming off of back-to-back double digit touchdown seasons in Denver. But while Sanders was used sparingly in Pittsburgh, Peyton Manning and the Broncos saw much more in his game. Sanders took advantage of the opportunity afforded to him when Wes Welker missed the first four games of the season due to a suspension. Sanders made a whopping 32 receptions for 435 yards during those games, proving that he could not only catch the ball down the field, but could also work underneath both on the outside and in the slot. Sanders would never relinquish his starting job and ended the season as the No. 7 receiver in all of fantasy football as he made 101 receptions for 1,404 yards and nine touchdowns.

Now with Welker and tight end Julius Thomas gone, Sanders figures to be an even more important part of the Denver offense this coming season. While the running game will almost certainly play a bigger role, Manning is not suddenly going to become a “game manager.” He’s one of the best of all time and the Broncos would be out of their minds to not give him the opportunity to carve up defenses in 2015. Manning-led offenses are almost always going to be very friendly to its receivers and Sanders stands to have another big year if everything goes as planned. A repeat of his 2014 numbers might be a bit of a stretch, but Sanders should still provide plenty of consistency while mixing in some big games here and there. Don’t be surprised to see him contending again among the top 10 at the position by the end of the season.

Injury Emmanuel Sanders still struggling with hamstring
Kubiak hopes WR will be healthy enough to practice next week
By: John Canario | Fri Aug 28, 4:45 pm

Denver Broncos
For the second straight year, Pro Bowl receiver Emmanuel Sanders is missing a good chunk of summer practice with a leg injury. Last year, it was a strained thigh that sidelined him for 1 1/2 weeks. This time, it’s a pulled right hamstring. Sanders isn’t expected to play in either of Denver’s remaining exhibition games although coach Gary Kubiak said he hopes to have him back on the field next week. “He ran yesterday and everything was positive, there were no setbacks,” Kubiak said Thursday. “I’m hoping tomorrow he gets some throwing in with Peyton after our jog-through or whatever we end up doing in the morning. I think everything’s on schedule for him to be a full-time participant next week.” (Denver CBS Local)

FFToday's Take: Despite missing so much time last preseason, Sanders turned in a career year in 2014 with 1404 yards and 9 TDs. If he can get healthy again, similar totals are not out of the question this year, though many have speculated that the Broncos' new offense will emphasize the run more.

Demaryius Thomas likely to play against HOU
Kubiak pleased with progress
By: Jake Gordon | Sat Aug 15, 7:20 pm

Denver Broncos
Denver Broncos coach Gary Kubiak said he's pleased with Demaryius Thomas' progress after he missed the offseason workouts because of contract negotiations. Kubiak said the starting receiver will play Saturday in Houston. How much will be determined by the coaches later this week. "I think he's ready to go play as long as Peyton (Manning) plays," Kubiak said. He said Manning will probably play through at least part of the second quarter. (Denver Post)

FFToday's Take: Demaryius Thomas is ready for game action and figures to lead the Broncos receiving corps again in 2015. With Emmanuel Sanders' nagging hamstring woes, Thomas should be Peyton Manning's top target right out of the gates this season.
