2015 Outlook
Depth Chart
Only one player can boast a two-point per game average gap over the second rated player at their position while commanding a tier of their own in fantasy rankings. At just 26 years of age, Rob Gronkowski has been the most dominant and consistent tight end since joining the league in 2010. He has posted 54 touchdowns in 65 NFL games and two 1100-plus yard seasons, including a whopping 1327 yards and 17 TD campaign in 2011. His value does take somewhat of a hit if Brady is suspended for the full four games, however, Gronkís size and ability to find the end zone will likely make him a favorite target for Jimmy Garappolo. Fantasy owners looking for a clear advantage over the competition at the tight end position can do no wrong with Gronkowski. The question is can he deliver on the first round price tag that accompanies a player of his caliber.

Rob Gronkowski expected to play
Knee, back injuries
By: Mike Krueger | Sat Jan 16, 5:04 am

New England Patriots
#Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski (knee, back) will play today vs. #KCChiefs, per @KimJonesSports & me. He'll be in pain, but he'll play. (Ian Rapoport on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: It sounds like Gronk will be at less than 100 percent for this game. Just how limited he will be, if it all, remains to be seen. Anytime he steps on the field he is an elite fantasy option at the position but temper your expectations today.

Injury Gronk, Edelman, Amendola all questionable
Gronkowski dealing with back and knee injuries
By: Mike Krueger | Fri Jan 15, 4:30 pm

New England Patriots
#Patriots injury report: Gronk (knee/back), Edelman (foot), Vollmer (ankle), Chandler Jones (abdomen/toe) all listed QUESTIONABLE (Ben Volin on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: Rob Gronkowski reportedly got an injection in his knee on Thursday for pain relief and is also dealing with a back injury. It looks like he's headed for a gametime decision. Given the secretive nature of the Patriots we'll need to wait for the inactive list on Saturday to be sure, but it's a good bet that Gronk, Julian Edelman and Danny Amendola will all be active. Their effectiveness is the bigger question.

Injury Gronk receives injection in ailing right knee
Patriots believe he'll be ready for Divisional Round
By: Doug Orth | Thu Jan 14, 6:30 pm

New England Patriots
New England Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski spent part of Thursday in a Boston hospital getting treatment on his injured right knee which included an injection, according to a source familiar with the procedure. The Patriots believe Gronkowski will play in Saturday's divisional-round playoff game against the visiting Kansas City Chiefs, but will ultimately need to see how Gronkowski feels on game day. (ESPN)

FFToday's Take: DFS and fantasy playoff league owners have slight reason for concern since Gronkowski has missed two of the last three practices, getting in only an limited session in between Wednesday. He did play 55 of 60 snaps in Week 17, however, and should be expected to play. Although he has proven to be nearly matchup-proof, the combination of his knee and the Chiefs' stellar defense versus tight ends should be enough to steer most of the fantasy public away from using him this weekend.

Injury Gronk's status still up in the air, may be limited
Game-time decision
By: Mike Krueger | Sun Dec 13, 7:00 am

New England Patriots
Patriots TE Rob Gronkowskiís (knee) status is up in the air & it will depend on how he feels. But he practiced well & is ready, if needed. (Ian Rapoport on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: Gronk owners should be looking for other options. Even if he does play, there's a real possibility he could be limited or used as a decoy. TE Scott Chandler is also questionable but expected to play. New England faces Houston on Sunday Night Football.

Injury Gronk questionable to play Sunday
TE practiced on a very limited basis Thursday and Friday
By: John Canario | Fri Dec 11, 7:55 pm

New England Patriots
After participating in practice Thursday and Friday, Rob Gronkowski and the Patriots are going to keep the Texans guessing in the buildup to Sunday nightís game. The Patriots listed Gronkowski as questionable on Fridayís injury report. Gronkowksi took no questions but offered a brief statement Friday, saying itís good to be back and that heís doing everything he can to feel better. (NBC Sports)

FFToday's Take: In what is now a playoff week in most pools, starting a banged-up player is a risky proposition. But Gronkowski is the kind of player who can singlehandedly win fantasy owners their weekly matchup. Monitor his status closely heading into Sunday, but take note that the Patriots play in the late game Sunday night. Be sure to have a backup plan available if Gronkowski can't suit up, like Scott Chandler, Will Tye or Jordan Cameron.

Injury Rob Gronkowski on the practice field Thursday
Will likely be limited
By: Mike Krueger | Thu Dec 10, 1:00 pm

New England Patriots
Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski back at practice Thursday. He missed Wednesday's full-pads session and all of last week's practices. (Mike Reiss on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: Gronk injured his knee Week 12 and missed last week's game against the Eagles. It remains to be seen when he'll return game action but this week against Houston remains unlikely.

Injury Gronk out, Amendola likely in
Pats likely to get one offensive weapon back this week
By: John Canario | Fri Dec 4, 5:20 pm

New England Patriots
Rob Gronkowski will miss this week's New England Patriots game versus the Philadelphia Eagles, as expected. The All Pro tight end has been ruled out for Week 13 with a knee injury. As NFL Media's Albert Breer points out, it's not a good sign for the next week's availability when the Patriots rule out a player on Friday. With Julian Edelman (foot) also sidelined, Tom Brady would benefit from Danny Amendola's return to the lineup. Amendola is expected to suit up, barring a setback. (NFL.com)

FFToday's Take: Last Friday, it looked as though Amendola would suit for the Pats' tilt with the Broncos but he was later ruled out. Amendola owners will want to monitor his status leading up to the 4:25 pm ET kickoff.

Injury Gronkowski week-to-week with knee bruise
Avoids major injury
By: Mike Krueger | Mon Nov 30, 1:39 pm

New England Patriots
Rob Gronkowski is week to week and the injury is being described as more of a bruise of the knee than a tear per sources. (Dianna Marie Russini on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: It sounds like Gronkowski is going to escape without a serious injury. He may miss Week 13 but a an extended absence appears unlikely. Scott Chandler would become fantasy relevant at TE if Gronk misses any time.

Injury Gronk may have avoided serious knee injury
More testing on Monday
By: Mike Krueger | Sun Nov 29, 10:00 pm

New England Patriots
More testing likely and further updates ahead, but one source just texted this on Gronk's leg injury: "Doesn't appear to be serious." (Adam Schefter on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: Rob Gronkowski was carted off the field Sunday night after taking a hit on his right knee. His leg wasn't planted on the ground at the time, so he may have suffered only a bad contusion. More tests will be done on Monday to further evaluate the injury.

Injury Danny Amendola expected to play
WR listed as questionable
By: John Canario | Fri Nov 27, 4:45 pm

New England Patriots
New England Patriots wide receiver Danny Amendola practiced on Friday, according to the Boston Herald's Jeff Howe. Amendola also got in a limited session on Thursday, indicating that the Patriots are preparing to suit him up for the Week 12 matchup with the Denver Broncos. The Patriots' slot receiver was featured heavily in the offense before exiting Week 11's victory over the Bills with a sprained knee. However, it appears that Amendola is not in danger of being kept out of action on Sunday. (SB Nation)

FFToday's Take: Amendola is a must-start this weekend as Tom Brady's second-best receiving option after Rob Gronkowski. The diminutive receiver is in line for his third straight week with more than 10 targets.
