Revis impressed with Tebow-- Wed May 16 8:20 pm -- Star cornerback calls former Bronco a natural "leader"
Here's some food for thought: Tim Tebow has unmatched passion - even in the cafeteria. At least that's what Darrelle Revis thinks. When it comes to lunch partners, the All-Pro cornerback says there's no one like the New York Jets backup quarterback. ''Some people have it and some guys don't,'' Revis said Wednesday. ''I just think the passion, it's the passion within, of him wanting to be a leader, wanting to win. You see it all the time - eating lunch you see it. Walking down the hallway you see it.''(Yahoo Sports)
FF Today's Take:Leadership skills don't exactly translate into fantasy points - particularly in Tebow's case as he's likely to be backing up Mark Sanchez. But if Tebow can seize the starting job at some point during the season, his knack for tucking the ball in and charging toward the endzone for routine 10 to 30 yard gains make him a must-start and thus, worthy of a late round pick.
WR Eric Decker's stock on the rise-- Wed Apr 18 9:30 pm -- Bronco receiver getting on the same page with Manning
Eric Decker's stock is rising in the eyes of the Denver Broncos and quarterback Peyton Manning. The third-year receiver who struggled at times catching Tim Tebow's erratic throws last season has been hauling in Manning's precise passes for a month now. Manning revealed that the coaching staff wants to expand Decker's role, moving him around to use him in different ways next season, and he had high praise for Decker, saying he's the leader of the receiving corps.(Yahoo Sports)
FF Today's Take:While many have speculated that Demaryius Thomas will be the Broncos' receiver to own next season, it could just as well be Decker. The former Golden Gopher has a unique blend of size and athleticism that make him an ideal red zone target. He had eight touchdowns last year and could feasibly improve on that total in 2012.
Broncos WR not sad to see Tebow go-- Fri Apr 13 3:45 pm -- Demaryius Thomas looking forward to playing with Peyton Manning
Denver Broncos wide receiver Demaryius Thomas isn’t gushing about Tim Tebow’s performance last season in Denver. Tebow got much of the hype and praise for helping the Broncos make the playoffs. Thomas felt much of that credit was undeserved even though he caught the game-winning touchdown pass from Tebow during the Broncos’ overtime playoff victory against the Pittsburgh Steelers. “It’s a business decision ... I wasn’t getting no balls and you had to make some of these plays where some players were open and he is not making the throws. But I don’t want to talk bad about Tim, but hey I am happy we got Peyton (Manning).”
(Sporting News)
FF Today's Take:You can't blame Thomas for being a little bitter. Tebow was glorified last season while the rest of the Broncos sat outside the glow of the young quarterback's limelight. If a healthy Peyton Manning is able to pick back up where he left off in 2010, Thomas, Eric Decker and Jacob Tamme could all make a name for themselves as productive fantasy receivers.
Tebow unsure if he'll ever start again-- Fri Mar 30 10:30 pm -- QB remains positive on outlook with new team
If Tim Tebow has his sights set on Mark Sanchez's job, the New York Jets backup quarterback is keeping it to himself. Tebow told WEPN-AM in New York on Friday that he's "not sure" if he'll ever be a starting quarterback again, and that thought doesn't even concern him right now.(NFL.com)
FF Today's Take:For fantasy purposes, let's hope Tebow can reclaim a starting job in the NFL. The shaky-armed quarterback delighted fantasy owners last season with his ability to put up hefty totals running the ball.
Tim Tebow traded to Jets-- Wed Mar 21 1:00 pm -- Broncos receiver 4th-round draft pick
The Jets will send a fourth-round pick to the Denver Broncos for QB Tim Tebow, a source said.
Tebow, a former first-round pick, went on the trading block Monday when the Broncos secured free agent Peyton Manning, who signed a five-year, $96 million contract.(ESPN)
FF Today's Take:Jacksonville and Green Bay were also interested in Tebow's services but he will now butt heads with Mark Sanchez who just two weeks ago, received a three-year, $40.5 million contract extension. In New York, Tebow is expected to be used as a situational player in Rex Ryan's run-oriented offense.
Manning expected to join Broncos-- Mon Mar 19 12:05 pm -- Tim Tebow expected to be traded
Peyton Manning will become the next quarterback of the Denver Broncos, barring a snag during intensified contract negotiations that have commenced under the instruction of the four-time MVP to his agent Tom Condon, according to multiple sources.
Once the Manning deal becomes official, Denver will try to trade Tim Tebow, according to sources.(ESPN)
FF Today's Take:Manning has informed other teams of his decision and it appears he will become Denver's QB assuming the contract can be worked out. Eric Decker and Demaryius Thomas have just spiked in fantasy value.
Elway supporting Tebow-- Sat Feb 25 2:55 pm -- Broncos' former star QB showing faith in 24-year-old
Denver Broncos vice president John Elway said he hopes Tim Tebow is the team’s long-term solution at quarterback. “He added a great spark for us, and we really had some good things happen to us,” Elway said Friday at the NFL scouting combine. “I was really happy with his progress. I know Tim’s going to work hard this offseason. We’re hoping that he’s going to be the guy for a long, long time.”(Yahoo Sports)
FF Today's Take:Tebow may play a fairly unorthodox style of quarterback but he's a fantasy goldmine, racking up points running the football and by scoring the occasional rushing touchdown. As long as he's a starting NFL quarterback, he'll be worthy of fantasy starts.
