2016 Outlook
Depth Chart
Widely considered a perennial elite fantasy option at the wide receiver position, Demaryius Thomas took a step back in 2015, falling to 13th at the position. Thomasí numbers were still very good Ė career numbers for most receivers Ė but his six touchdowns were a substantial downtick from the 35 touchdowns he had accumulated in each of his prior three seasons with the squad.

Of course, the horrendous quarterback play that he had to deal with was a big reason why Thomasí season-long numbers suffered. Peyton Manningís declining arm strength was a big contributor in Thomasí yards per catch falling to an all-time low and the general lack of offensive fireworks led the Broncos to rely much more on their defense than they had in previous seasons when they were putting up record-level offensive production.

The good news for Thomas is that itíd be difficult for things to get much worse for him at the quarterback position. Whether itís Sanchez, Lynch or Siemian throwing him the ball, Thomas should be in line for plenty of targets in this offense that is now without both tight ends Vernon Davis and Owen Daniels. He may not present the upside of the No. 1 overall wide receiver that he once did, but Thomas is as reliable as they come among WR2ís and low-end WR1ís. If he ends up on your roster, youíll be happy more often than not and that alone is a valuable fantasy commodity.

Injury Demaryius will test hip in pregame warmups
Gametime Decision
By: Mike Krueger | Sun Sep 18, 8:45 am

Denver Broncos
Broncos operating as if Demaryius Thomas will be able to play through hip injury. But they do want to see him test it pregame to make sure. (Adam Schefter on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: Thomas has a tasty matchup against the Colts depleted secondary but even if he does play his risk is off the chart. He could be limited. Of the two, Emmanuel Sanders is the better receiver play for fantasy owners.

Injury Demaryius Thomas practices Fri, Questionable
Hip injury
By: Mike Krueger | Fri Sep 16, 1:30 pm

Denver Broncos
Demaryius Thomas has been dealing with a hip injury that flared up last week, but he played through it. He saw limited work Wednesday and Thursday, working about one-third of the snaps each day. "Leading up to [the game], it's coming out of cuts and getting hit, but come game time, there's nothing to worry about then," he said Thursday. "You're either going to go out and be 100 to help the team, or you're going to be on the sideline." (DenverBroncos.com)

FFToday's Take: Thomas is likely to play this week, but is unlikely to be 100 percent. This game sets up in favor of the Broncos rushing attack and could lead Thomas to take a back seat in the game plan. He's on the WR3 radar.

Injury Demaryius Thomas still hurting
Suffered hip injury early in Week 1 win
By: Doug Orth | Thu Sep 15, 11:55 pm

Denver Broncos
Demaryius Thomas (hip) again stood on the sideline twice as long as he practiced Thursday at Broncos headquarters. The veteran wide receiver tried to shrug off the seriousness of a left hip injury. But a full week after first suffering pain, the hurt is lingering. Just like he did Wednesday, Thomas on Thursday participated in only one-third of the Broncosí practice snaps, coach Gary Kubiak said. He has spent most of this week on the sideline. ďItís day by day. I ainít gonna be feeling great. But itís getting better every day. ... Stopping out of breaks, going down field, even taking hits. With the hip, you never know,Ē Thomas said. (Denver Post)

FFToday's Take: Thomas owners need to start making other plans for Week 2, if not beyond. It is a lot to ask any player to play through a hip injury to begin with, and hip injuries are almost serious in nature. Jordan Norwood and Cody Latimer would be the receivers most likely to fill in should DT miss time, but Emmanuel Sanders and Virgil Green would be the ones to benefit most statistically from his absence.

Injury Demaryius Thomas hobbled at practice
Hip could limit Denver's top receiver this weekend
By: Jake Gordon | Wed Sep 14, 6:11 pm

Denver Broncos
Demaryius Thomas hobbled his way through a Broncos practice Wednesday at Dove Valley with limited field time. And the Broncos are trying desperately to get him square to face the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday in Denver. The Broncosí No. 1 wide receiver continually rapped a fist at his injured left hip during practice and, at one point, he stopped to take a knee after running a hard route. Thomas was involved for only about 33 percent of the Broncosí practice, coach Gary Kubiak said. (Denver Post)

FFToday's Take: Demaryius Thomas (hip) owners should be concerned considering that he is still in noticeable pain after playing on Thursday and had an MRI on Monday. Denver HC Gary Kubiak is expecting to have Thomas available Sunday, but how effective he can be remains to be seen. He hauled in four catches for 48 yards in a tough match up with the Panthers last week but may not be healthy enough to take advantage of a more favorable opponent in Week 2.
