|Edelman has been a target monster over the past two seasons, logging 285 targets in 30 games dating back to the start of the 2013 season. Of those 205 targets, the former seventh round pick from Kent State converted 197 of them for catches and 2028 yards. Unfortunately, only ten of those 197 catches went for touchdowns, and only four of them occurred with Rob Gronkowski on the field. Edelman is a nice compliment to any team, especially those playing in PPR and half-point PPR formats. But in a standard league weighed heavily on touchdowns, Edelman takes a hit for his lack of TD scoring in the offense. Complicating the situation is Edelman has been noticeably absent from team drills since early August, relegated to individual work for an undisclosed injury. The general consensus is Edelman will be available for Week 1 but the Patriots remain silent on his timetable for return.

Broken bone in foot

|Julian Edelman will undergo surgery Monday for a broken bone in his foot, per source. There is hope he will return this season, per sources. (Adam Schefter on Twitter)|
FFToday's Take: It's been reported that Edelman broke the fifth metatarsal in his left foot which is a similar injury that Dez Bryant suffered earlier this season. Bryant missed 7 weeks. In all likelihood, Edeleman's regular season is over. Danny Amendola should see increased work and should be a high waiver wire priority in Week 11.
| Edelman limited in practice|

|FOXBORO, Mass. — New England Patriots fans and fantasy football owners can breathe a deep sigh of relief. Julian Edelman is fine.
The wide receiver popped up on the Patriots’ injury report as limited with a knee ailment Wednesday. Edelman finished practice and the injury is “nothing to be concerned about,” a source told NESN.com.
FFToday's Take: Julian Edelman's knee injury may not be serious but he could see his targets decrease slightly after the Patriots welcomed back Brandon LaFell in Week 8. Nonetheless, he's a surefire starter in all fantasy formats for Week 9 against the Redskins.
