2017 Outlook
Depth Chart
After posting the second-most rushing touchdowns (13) in his eight-year NFL career, Shady McCoy vaulted himself back into a consensus first round draft pick in all formats. Despite losing 8 rushing touchdowns to former Bill Mike Gillislee, McCoy was still able to score 14 total touchdowns in 15 games last season.

McCoy is set to surpass the 2000-carry plateau this season to go along with over 400 career receptions, begging the question when the oft-injured 29-year-old running back will finally break down for good.

When healthy, McCoy is still one of the most dynamic players in the game, as evident to his impressive 4.7 career yard per carry average. As the lead back for a Buffalo team that led the NFL in rushing yards over the past two seasons, McCoy has a chance to finish the season as a top 3 running back in both standard and PPR formats. But owners who draft McCoy may want to consider investing in a viable replacement option or handcuff Jonathan Williams, as McCoy has managed to play a full 16-game schedule in only two of his eight seasons, and has yet to do so with the Bills.

Bills plan to keep feeding the ball to McCoy
RB had 27 touches in Week 1 versus Jets
By: Doug Orth | Mon Sep 11, 4:20 pm

Buffalo Bills
Bills offensive coordinator Rick Dennison said Monday he will "let it all work itself out" as far as LeSean McCoy's touches this season. McCoy had 27 touches in Sunday's opener, but Dennison said he wasn't counting on the sidelines. "If I give him the ball 50 times, he'll make 50 plays." (ESPN)

FFToday's Take: This feel like it is heading down a predictable road, one in which McCoy is sidelined for multiple weeks sometime in October. He appeared to suffer a hand injury late in Week 1 before returning, and it appears Mike Tolbert may be the one playing the same role Mike Gillislee did last year. McCoy will be an every-week start for as long as he can hold up, so owners need to enjoy it while it lasts. In the meantime, Tolbert should be added in most leagues.

McCoy could play 'every snap' this season
Workload won't be a issue for LeSean McCoy
By: Jake Gordon | Tue Sep 5, 10:51 am

Buffalo Bills
ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. -- Buffalo Bills coach Sean McDermott said Wednesday that he could play running back LeSean McCoy on "every snap" of each game this season. (ESPN.com)

FFToday's Take: LeSean McCoy will have ample opportunities to rack up fantasy points in Buffalo's backfield if he can remain healthy this season. Mike Tolbert is listed as the backup but the team would likely use a committee approach if McCoy were forced out of action this year.

Surprise: Bills release RB Jonathan Williams
Jumbled mess at the backup RB spot
By: Mike Krueger | Sun Sep 3, 1:30 pm

Buffalo Bills
After mostly predictable moves Saturday, the Buffalo Bills came up with a bit of a surprise Sunday by releasing running back Jonathan Williams and linebacker Gerald Hodges, according to media reports. (Buffalo News)

FFToday's Take: Williams appeared to be locked in to the No. 2 spot behind LeSean McCoy. However, the Bills have kept running backs Joe Banyard, Taiwan Jones along with fullbacks Mike Tolbert and Patrick DiMarco. With all the moves this off-season it's difficult to decipher at this point who would get the majority of carries should something happen to McCoy.
