|A first-round pick in the 2009 draft, Brown has proven to be a near complete bust in the Colts backfield, failing to earn a starting role or even prove consistently capable as part of a backfield committee. After being usurped by rookie fifth-round pick Vick Ballard (a player with far less natural ability) in 2012, Brown's poor showing convinced the Colts to sign former Giant Ahmad Bradshaw this past offseason. That sounded the death knell for Brown's fantasy value in 2013 and quite possibly his career as a Colt. While Brown has provided some highlight reel plays over the years, his inconsistency will be remembered as his main calling card.

Trent Richardson demoted
| The Indianapolis Colts have finally decided to ride the hot hand.
Running back Trent Richardson will be benched in favor of Donald Brown, NFL Media columnist Michael Silver reported Sunday on NFL Network's "NFL GameDay First." Richardson will be the second-string back with a reduced workload, Silver said. (NFL.com)|
FF Today's Take: Kudos to the Colts for making the move as Brown has been outproducing Richardson for some time now. Richardson should be avoided in fantasy lineups today while Brown checks in as a low-end RB2 against the Titans.
| Bradshaw's long-term status unclear -- Thu Oct 3 10:00 am --|
No definitive word on neck injury
|The Indianapolis Colts are hopeful but concerned regarding the immediate and long-term status of Ahmad Bradshaw, according to a team source. Ideally, the neck injury suffered by the veteran running back at San Francisco Sept. 22 will heal on its own with treatment and rest. However, the source added there is a level of concern that surgery might be required, which would bring into question Bradshaw’s status for the remainder of the season. (Indianapolis Star)|
FF Today's Take: Bradshaw hasn't practiced this week and it seems unlikely that he will be available for Week 5. Donald Brown will backup Trent Richardson and has some stash value in deeper leagues.
| Colts lose Bradshaw for Week 4 -- Fri Sep 27 11:00 am --|
|The Indianapolis Colts will be without their leading rusher for the second time in four games.
Ahmad Bradshaw is out for Sunday’s game at Jacksonville, Colts coach Chuck Pagano said. He didn’t practice all week after suffering a neck injury in last Sunday’s win at San Francisco. (Indianapolis Star)|
FF Today's Take: Trent Richardson and Donald Brown will handle the running back duties with Richardson becoming RB1 against a shaky Jacksonville defense.
