Panthers LB Thomas Davis suffers broken arm-- Mon Jan 25 7:10 pm --
Vows to play in Super Bowl 50
Thomas Davis could play in Super Bowl 50 despite suffering a broken arm in Sunday's NFC Championship Game win. The Carolina Panthers linebacker underwent surgery early Monday morning and coach Ron Rivera told reporters that Davis could play in two weeks. It's possible we could see Davis play in Super Bowl 50 with a large Rob Gronkowski-like brace on his injured arm. Davis was hurt during the second quarter of the Panthers' 49-15 win over the Arizona Cardinals. The veteran linebacker held his arm as he walked off to the locker room, and was later seen on the sideline with his arm in a sling.(NFL.com)
FF Today's Take:Davis wasn't missed all that much Sunday as Arizona committed turnover after turnover in the second half, but the veteran is an emotional leader as well as one of the best sideline-to-sideline tacklers in the NFL. The linebacking duo of Davis and Luke Kuechly is the best tackling tandem in the NFL. The Broncos' running game would get a slight boost if Davis isn't able to make it back, although Carolina is about as deep at linebacker as any team in the league.
