Hightower re-joining Saints backfield     -- Fri Apr 8 11:45 am --

Handcuff material for Ingram owners
Running back Tim Hightower is re-signing with the New Orleans Saints, according to a source. The two sides met last week and have agreed to initial terms on a new contract. Hightower played in eight games for New Orleans in 2016, rushing for 375 yards and four touchdowns. He also caught 12 passes for 129 yards. (Times Picayune)

FF Today's Take: Hightower filled in nicely for an injured Mark Ingram allowing the team to let Khiry Robinson move on in free agency. Even though Hightower is closing in on 30 years age, he spent three-plus years out of the league due to a knee injury. He'll be handcuff material for Ingram owners.
Saints working on deal for RB Tim Hightower     -- Tue Mar 8 9:51 am --

Saints backfield one to watch in free agency
Last year's cool comeback story isn't over. Saints working to bring back RB Tim Hightower, source said. Started 3 games after 4 years out (Ian Rapoport on Twitter)

FF Today's Take: Hightower is 29 years-old but was out of the league from 2012-2014. The Saints trusted him as a workhorse last season while filling in for the injured Mark Ingram, giving him 29 and 31 touches in two games down the stretch. It sounds like Khiry Robinson will be the odd man out in the Saints backfield.
