Ravens RB says disappointing Week 15 due to Jags stacking box
|Ravens running back Justin Forsett encountered some tough sledding Sunday against his old team.
During a 20-12 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars at M&T Bank Stadium, Forsett had trouble finding room to run. He didn't gain much traction, rushing for only 48 yards on 16 carries. It marked Forsett's lowest rushing total since a Nov. 2 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers, when he was held to a season-low 38 yards on nine carries.
The Jaguars regularly deployed eight and nine defenders to crowd the line of scrimmage and prevent Forsett from breaking free downfield.
Ranked third in the NFL with 1,128 rushing yards for the season, Forsett averaged just three yards per carry Sunday with a long run of six yards.
“Their mindset coming in was to stop the run,” said Forsett, who was cut by the Jaguars last spring after one injury-plagued season in Jacksonville in which he rushed for 31 yards on six carries. “They were a physical bunch. They’ve got a great front seven and they did a good job. The box and safeties were down, but it was a good challenge for us. (Baltimore Sun)|
FF Today's Take: With WR Torrey Smith banged up and Steve Smith, Sr. pretty quiet the past few weeks, this was a strategy that made sense for Jacksonville. He'll likely resume his normal workload and have better results facing the reeling Texans in Week 16.

Listed as Questionable with knee injury

FF Today's Take: Forsett has been expected to play despite missing practice Wednesday and Thursday of this week. Miami gives up the 19th-most fantasy points to running backs.
| Forsett, Torrey Smith miss Thursday practice -- Thu Dec 4 7:45 pm --|
|The Ravens were again without two key skill-position players on Thursday, as RB Justin Forsett and WR Torrey Smith sat out the club’s second workout of the week with knee injuries. The Ravens’ leading rusher, Forsett previously indicated he believes he will play. And on Thursday, Smith said his knee was healing, according to Jeff Zrebiec of the Baltimore Sun. (Pro Football Talk)|
FF Today's Take: The Ravens’ final major practice of the week is Friday, with the injury report also to be released tomorrow. By then, there could be more clarity on the statuses of both players for Sunday’s game at Miami. For now, it obviously looks good for both players, although the age-old advice of owners needing to be prepared for alternate options obviously applies.

Ravens RB rushes for 182 yards and two scores
|On Monday night, before a national television audience, Justin Forsett's very first carry went for 38 yards and he finished with a career-high 182 yards rushing to lead playoff-contending Baltimore to a 34-27 victory over the New Orleans Saints.
"It's crazy, man. You think about where I was this time last year, mostly doing a lot of scout team work and coming in (to play) every once in a while," Forsett said. "To just get the opportunity when I thought I would never get it again, it's a blessing."
While Forsett is grateful to the Ravens for the chance they gave him, Baltimore (7-4) might say the feeling is mutual. No one really knew how the Ravens' running game would fare after Ray Rice was suspended and later released because of an assault on his wife that was captured by hotel video cameras.
With five games still to go, Forsett has rushed for 903 yards and seven TDs while averaging 5.8 yards per carry.
"The work he's putting in, the results he's getting and what he's doing for this team was huge," said Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco, who passed for 243 yards and a touchdown against New Orleans. "He's not letting the guy tackle him in the hole with his arms or anything like that. He's breaking those little things." (USA Today/AP)|
FF Today's Take: Forsett's NFL career has come full circle, and fantasy owners who grabbed him in the wake of the Ray Rice scandal are very happy he's found so much success. He's an unquestioned RB1 and his prospects for 2015 and dynasty leagues keep getting better.
| Forsett sits, Owen Daniels practices Wednesday -- Wed Oct 29 1:10 pm --|
Leg injury for Ravens' running back
|avens veterans Owen Daniels and Chris Canty returned to practice Wednesday..
The tight end Daniels missed Sunday's 27-24 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals after undergoing arthroscopic knee surgery.
Several players weren't practicing (including) running back Justin Forsett (leg), who was limping after the Bengals' game and downplayed the severity of his injury. (Baltimore Sun)|
FF Today's Take: The exact injury to Forsett isn't known but it's something for owners to keep an eye on. Lorenzo Taliaferro would see increased value this week if Forsett isn't able to go.
| Jordan Cameron active, Bernard Pierce Out -- Sun Sep 21 11:35 am --|
Ravens without starting running back
|Jordan Cameron will in fact be active today. Bernard Pierce is inactive for the Ravens (Jason LaCanfora via Twitter)|
FF Today's Take: Cameron can be inserted into fantasy lineups with the understanding that his shoulder could easily be re-aggravated. With Pierce out, Justin Forsett will handle more of the rushing load with Lorenzo Taliaferro working in a backup role.
