Itís officially official. Itís time to give up on the hope that Daniels will regain the elite form that he displayed over the first half of the 2009 season before suffering a torn ACL. At this point, it is even hard to get excited that Daniels has the chance to earn plenty of targets with Kevin Walter in decline and a trio of unproven players behind him on the depth chart. He caught 54 passes for 677 yards and three touchdowns last season and it is unlikely that he will significantly improve on those numbers in 2012. Consider Daniels a mid to lower tier TE2.
avens veterans Owen Daniels and Chris Canty returned to practice Wednesday..
The tight end Daniels missed Sunday's 27-24 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals after undergoing arthroscopic knee surgery.
Several players weren't practicing (including) running back Justin Forsett (leg), who was limping after the Bengals' game and downplayed the severity of his injury.(Baltimore Sun)
FF Today's Take:The exact injury to Forsett isn't known but it's something for owners to keep an eye on. Lorenzo Taliaferro would see increased value this week if Forsett isn't able to go.
TE Crockett Gillmore to start in place of Daniels-- Sat Oct 25 7:00 am --
Owen Daniels has knee scoped
The Ravens will be shorthanded at tight end for Sundayís game against the Cincinnati Bengals as veteran tight end Owen Daniels underwent arthroscopic surgery on his left knee after his injury didnít improve this week.
Daniels was officially ruled out on the injury report.
Rookie tight end Crockett Gillmore will start in place of the two-time Pro Bowl selection.(Baltimore Sun)
FF Today's Take:It's conceivable that Daniels could return in Week 9 but there's no guarantee. The Ravens have already lost Dennis Pitta at the position and will now call on their rookie to fill the void. Crockett will be a TE2 against the Bengals this week.
