Rams' Jackson Misses Practice With Flu-- Fri Dec 18 3:30 pm -- Spagnuolo Cannot Confirm Swine Flu
Running back Steven Jackson, wide receiver Brandon Gibson, defensive tackle Darell Scott and quarterback Kyle Boller, all missed practice Friday because of flu-like symptoms. But St. Louis Rams coach Steve Spagnuolo said he wasn’t sure if those players had come down with swine flu.
Defensive end Leonard Little had an infection in his knee that needed to be treated, and also missed Friday’s workout at Rams Park.(St Louis Post-Dispatch)
FF Today's Take:The report could just be putting the Rams' recent admission of the swine flu bug and these players' symptoms together. However, if true, St. Louis would be forced to turn to Keith Null - who threw five INTs in Week 14 - once again. The big loss, of course, would be Jackson. His loss - combined with the loss of entire right side of the offensive line - would pretty much eliminate any chance the Rams had at being competitive in Week 15 vs. Houston.
Bulger Out 3-6 Weeks-- Mon Nov 23 9:00 pm -- Kyle Boller Will Start At QB For St. Louis
The St. Louis Rams will be without quarterback Marc Bulger for three to six weeks because of fracture in his knee, at the upper part of the shinbone. An MRI exam Monday disclosed the damage — technically called a tibial plateau fracture. That means that Kyle Boller takes over as the first-team quarterback and rookie Keith Null moves up to No. 2. Bulger also had an MRI exam Monday for an injury to his groin-hamstring area, which has been diagnosed as a strain, Spagnuolo said. Bulger is scheduled for a neurological exam, too, because he took a blow to the head late in the game.(St. Louis Post)
FF Today's Take:Bulger was in noticeable pain near the end of the Rams loss to Arizona on Sunday. He'll find comfort, watching from the sidelines the rest of the season while Kyle Boller endures the pain of the porous offensive line the Rams are putting on the field these days.
