Latimer struggled with playbook in year one     -- Mon Apr 20 6:00 am --

Broncos expect big jump in year two
"It took me too long to actually catch on," Cody Latimer said. "I was in the playbook, but I could have done even more. When I actually got it, it was too late. It was just way different (than college). I would know the play, then Peyton (Manning) would change it. Then I'd get to thinking too much and play slower." (Denver Post)

FF Today's Take: A classic issue for receivers first year in the league. Latimer projects to play more this season now that Wes Welker has been released. Latimer is expected to play on the outside with Emmanuel Sanders in the slot on three wide receiver sets. Gary Kubiak: "I think it's time for him to make a big jump, not just a little jump. Obviously his playing time is fixing to pick up, and it needs to pick up. We need him."
Sanders expected to play more in the slot     -- Mon Apr 13 5:30 pm --

Role will change for Broncos receiver
The Broncos will feature a more balanced offense centered on a zone-blocking running attack. Emmanuel Sanders recognizes that his role could change. He expects to play in the slot when the Broncos use a three-wide-receiver set. "I am comfortable there. I did it a lot in Pittsburgh (with the Steelers) and in college," Sanders said. (Denver Post)

FF Today's Take: The Broncos are expected to run the ball much like they did the second half of 2014. Cody Latimer will play on the outside in three wide receiver sets, kicking Sanders inside. As a result, it's hard to imagine Sanders repeating his 2014 performance (101-1404-9) when he finished as fantasy's No.7 wideout. A WR2 value is realistic but his early ADP is likely to be higher based off last season's WR1 production.
Wes Welker not ready to retire?     -- Mon Feb 16 6:10 pm --

"Just getting ready for 2015"
Contrary to a report last week, Broncos receiver Wes Welker is not mulling retirement. Welker, who ranks 20th all time among receivers with 890 career catches, said Monday he intends to play on. "Just getting ready for 2015," Welker told The Denver Post via text. FoxSports.com cited sources in its report on Feb. 10 that Welker was considering retirement. "Never ever came out of my mouth," Welker said. (Denver Post)

FF Today's Take: Fox's report last week or this week's report in the Denver Post don't paint a clear picture. The Broncos are likely to move forward with Andre Caldwell and Cody Latimer behind Demaryius Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders and Welker has battled concussion issues the last two years. He'll be a free agent on March 10th and attempt to catch on with a team in need of help in the slot.
