Bears receiver Kevin White to go on IR-- Wed Oct 5 12:48 pm --
Fracture in leg, considering surgery
LAKE FOREST, Ill. -- Chicago Bears wide receiver Kevin White will be placed on injured reserve with a fractured left fibula, one year after missing his entire rookie season with a stress fracture in the same leg.(AP)
FF Today's Take:Kevin White sees his fantasy value floored for the second consecutive season as he ends up on the IR with an injury to the same leg that caused him to miss his entire rookie year. Chicago was already starting to lean on veteran Eddie Royal in the passing attack so the largest increase in fantasy value will likely be seen with TE Zach Miller and WR Cameron Meredith. Miller has been gold in the red zone over the past two weeks and should now see a few more targets pushing him into TE1 territory. Meanwhile, Meredith is a six-foot three-inch receiver out of Illinois State in his third pro season. He will only be the fourth or fifth option in the passing game but is worth keeping an eye on in deeper formats. Chicago's best cornerback, Kyle Fuller, is also on IR and the Bears would only be able to bring back one player later this season. This could influence the White's decision on whether or not to have surgery on his leg and effectively ending his season.
