Rams and Eagles swap quarterbacks     -- Tue Mar 10 4:40 pm --

Sam Bradford and Nick Foles
A high-ranking Rams official has confirmed an ESPN report that quarterback Sam Bradford is in the process of being traded to Philadelphia for Eagles quarterback Nick Foles. There are conflicting reports on draft pick compensation. If the trade is finalized, the Rams will save just under $13 million in base salary, which Bradford was scheduled to receive this year. Foles is due to make $1.522 million in 2015, this last year of his contract.

FF Today's Take: Chip Kelly is certainly fun for the NFL. One would have to think that Kelly isn't done at the quarterback position. He's been linked to rookie Marcus Mariota in the upcoming draft and it's hard to imagine the Eagles heading into the season with Bradford as their QB1 and Mark Sanchez as their QB2. Foles is likely to be the Rams Week 1 starter but his fantasy stock has taken a hit with this move to St. Louis.
Foles on the market?     -- Mon Jan 26 5:00 pm --

Rams, Titans, Texans possibly interested
The Eagles' apparent indecision on what to do with QB Nick Foles has intrigued teams around the league, and possible suitors are beginning to emerge. According to a person familiar with the situation, but who requested anonymity, the St. Louis Rams have interest in Foles should the Eagles decide to trade him this offseason. Foles' possible availability was a topic of conversation among coaches and scouts last week at the Senior Bowl, with the Tennessee Titans and Houston Texans also mentioned as teams that would have interest if Foles hit the market. (Newark Star-Ledger)

FF Today's Take: Foles regressed from his breakout 2014 season before his season-ending shoulder injury and isn't the greatest fit for HC Chip Kelly's offense. There are enough mobile quarterbacks available in the draft - Oregon's Marcus Mariota and UCLA's Brett Hundley are among two Kelly would be familiar with - to believe that both Foles and Mark Sanchez may not be the starter in Philadelphia in 2015. With the Rams still willing to ride out Sam Bradford and the Titans warming up to Zach Mettenberger, the Texans could be the most logical destination.
