Injury Brian Hoyer expected to miss Week 16     -- Sat Dec 26 9:00 am --

Brandon Weeden expected to start
Brian Hoyer (concussion) making good progress but Texans not expected to play him this week. On track for Week 17 return. (Jason LaCanfora on Twitter)

FF Today's Take: With Hoyer out, that means Brandon Weeden will get the start against Tennessee. Weeden posted a 105-1-0 line in relief of T.J. Yates last week against the Colts. This doesn't affect the fantasy value of WR DeAndre Hopkins as Yates to Weeden is a lateral move. Tennessee is giving up the 8th-most fantasy points to quarterbacks.
Injury Brian Hoyer (concussion) likely out multiple weeks     -- Tue Dec 15 9:45 am --

Texans concerned after his second head injury in a month
Ed Werder (@Edwerderespn) on Twitter: "#Texans worried Brian Hoyer's latest concussion and other injuries could cause QB to be out for a while. I'm told player is concerned." (Twitter)

FF Today's Take: This is Hoyer second concussion inside of a month, and it appears that T.J. Yates will assume duties under center for the foreseeable future in Houston. Considering the favorable matchup in Indy, Yates might not be a terrible option in Week 15.
Injury Whitehurst could start for Colts in Week 15     -- Mon Dec 14 5:45 pm --

Hasselbeck (left arm, rib) forced from Week 14 loss
According to Stephen Holder of the Indianapolis Star, Andrew Luck said heís going to try to practice this week, but insisted he will play again this season. Thatís not to say heís going to be ready for Sundayís game against the Texans, but the fact heís close to being cleared to practice after a lacerated kidney is a good sign. According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, Matt Hasselbeck was spotted with his left arm in a sling. Hasselbeck left last nightís loss to the Jaguars with what was billed as a rib injury. If the 40-year-old backup canít go and Luck isnít ready, that means the Colts have to turn to Charlie Whitehurst. (Pro Football Talk)

FF Today's Take: The legend of "Clipboard Jesus" lives on. Despite Luck's insistence on playing again this season, there are multiple reports that suggest otherwise. Hasselbeck is likely dealing with multiple upper-body injuries and will probably be deemed no better than questionable when the injury reports are released later this week. Whitehurst and T.J. Yates could very well be the starting quarterback next week when the Colts and Texans meet in a battle for AFC South supremacy.
Injury Brian Hoyer ruled out for Week 11     -- Wed Nov 18 7:00 pm --

Team claims Brandon Weeden off waivers
It appears that the Houston Texans will attempt to keep their place atop the AFC South without Brian Hoyer on Sunday. NFL Media Insider Ian Rapaport reported Wednesday that Hoyer -- who suffered a concussion in Monday night's win over the Bengals -- is expected to sit out Sunday's matchup against the Jets, according to a source informed of the quarterback's situation. With Hoyer out, backup T.J. Yates is in line to make his first NFL start since Jan. 15, 2012. (

FF Today's Take: Houston continues to be bitten by the injury bug this season with Brian Hoyer sidelined for at least one week with a concussion. T.J. Yates is not the most appealing fantasy option going up against one of the best defenses in the league. With top receiving target DeAndre Hopkins likely to be blanketed by Darrelle Revis, Houston's offense will struggle to move the chains.
