2016 Outlook
Depth Chart
Although listed as a backup, Pitta essentially split the tight end role with Ed Dickson in 2011. In his first extensive playing time, Pitta hauled in 40 passes for 405 yards and a score and came on strong in a three game run that began in Week 17 and included two playoff games, catching 13 of 19 targets for 132 yards and two touchdowns. By seasonís end, Pitta was the more reliable of the teamís two tight ends, as evidenced by his 71.4% completion percentage for the season compared to 60.7% for Dickson. Since the Ravens appear to prefer Dickson in the starting lineup and the role will likely remain a timeshare, Pitta isnít worth owning in 2012.

News From The Past 90 Days
Injury Dennis Pitta could be "significant contributor"     -- Mon Jun 20 3:30 pm --

TE has not played since September 2014
Dennis Pitta was one of the more active and productive offensive players for the past couple of weeks (of offseason practices). Pitta is moving well and caught just about everything thrown in his direction. Heís always going to be at risk of reinjuring his hip, but for now, Pitta feels good and looks like he can be a significant contributor. (Baltimore Sun)

FF Today's Take: At first glance, the Ravens appear to have an overload at tight end. but Crockett Gillmore (shoulder), Maxx Williams (inexperience) and free-agent addition Ben Watson (will turn 36 the season) all bring their own flaws to the table. Pitta was once Joe Flacco's favorite target, and although faces long odds of getting back to 100 percent and carries significant injury risk, it's not unthinkable he could be useful in fantasy again if he can stay healthy.
