Thomas making "steady progress" from surgery     -- Thu Jul 23 6:35 pm --

Torn labrum; not expected to be cleared for camp
Earl Thomas making steady progress from post-Super Bowl shoulder surgery. Not expecting to be cleared for camp, unsure about Week 1. (Ed Werder on Twitter)

FF Today's Take: Thoamas has never missed a game in his five-year career. If he is forced to miss game action, which is looking like a definite possibility at this point, Seattle's pass defense can expect to struggle out of the gate. The Seahawks are already breaking in a new corner in Cary Williams to replace Byron Maxwell, so replacing the NFL's best center fielder is not a problem they wanted to deal with. DeShawn Shead could be the frontrunner to replace him in the lineup.
