2014 Outlook
Depth Chart
With Josh McDaniels at the controls and Sam Bradford coming off an impressive rookie season, there were high hopes for the Rams offense entering 2011. Unfortunately, the offense fell flat as Bradford struggled through an injury marred campaign and McDaniels stubbornly refused to alter his offensive approach despite having an array of offensive players ill-suited to carry out his marching orders. Bradford missed six games with a high ankle sprain but struggled mightily in his ten starts, throwing for just 2,164 yards and six touchdowns. McDaniels was fired after the season and replaced by former Jets offensive coordinator Brian Scottenheimer. Scottenheimer will employ a version of the west coast offense and that bodes well for Bradford, who excelled as a rookie in Pat Shurmurís WCO. While Bradford is expected to take a leap forward in 2012, it is doubtful he will be a useful fantasy option. The Rams scored 16 touchdowns last season and lost their top wide receiver (Brandon Lloyd) and the offensive line has significant issues once again. How many touchdowns are in order for the Rams in 2012? Canít be too many more than 16. That makes it pretty hard to predict a breakout season for Bradford in 2012. He remains a solid option in dynasty formats but he is a low end QB2 in redraft formats.

Comment: Bradford's ankle injury from last October has lingered into late May. The QB is in no danger of missing Week 1 due to this issue but it's something to keep an eye on as camp progresses.

News From The Past 90 Days
Injury As expected, Rams RB Stacy atop depth chart     -- Tue Aug 26 8:27 am --

Benny Cunningham slated for backup, Tre Mason third
Isaiah Pead is officially on injured reserve, leaving Zac Stacy, Cunningham, Mason, Chase Reynolds and possibly Trey Watts as the Rams RBs. Watts performed well against Cleveland and will get another chance against Miami. (ESPN)

FF Today's Take: The devastating loss of Sam Bradford leaves Shaun Hill as the Rams QB, which means Zac Stacy is likely to be the centerpiece of the offense, as he was down the stretch in 2013. He's a borderline RB1/2 with plenty of upside.
Injury Sam Bradford out for the year, ACL injury     -- Sun Aug 24 4:00 pm --

Rams QB injures same knee as last season
The optimism of Saturday night has turned in a Sunday afternoon nightmare for the Rams. As ESPN reported and league sources have indicated to the Post-Dispatch, quarterback Sam Bradford does indeed have a torn ACL and is out for the season. (St. Louis Post-Dispatch)

FF Today's Take: Tough break for Bradford and the Rams. Shaun Hill becomes the starter at quarterback. Expect the Rams to be a run-heavy team this season with Bradford on the sidelines. The Rams' passing game wasn't expected to be a dominant force in the league anyway. Move Zac Stacy up a couple spots on your draft board.
Injury Bradford injures knee, MRI tomorrow     -- Sat Aug 23 10:00 pm --

Rams QB walked off under his own power
The on-site examination by Rams medical officials proved inconclusive. Sam Bradford will undergo further tests Sunday in St. Louis to see if he has re-injured the anterior cruciate that was torn last October at Carolina. (St. Louis Post-Dispatch)

FF Today's Take: We'll have to wait for the MRI results to find out the extent of Bradford's injury. The fact that he walked off the field is a good sign but it's not guarantee that a significant injury didn't occur.
