Victor Cruz uncertain for Week 1
Giants WR still nursing calf strain

| Victor Cruz maintained that it’s “still the goal” to be on the field Week 1, but left the door open for his nagging calf to keep him out in the opener. (New York Daily News)
FFToday's Take: This is bad news for Cruz owners. Right now, nobody knows when they’ll see the Giants star on the field again. Cruz is trying to come back from last year’s torn patellar tendon in his right knee, and has been dealing with the calf injury since mid-August, when he still hoped to playing in multiple preseason games. He's an iffy fantasy option heading into 2015, and fellow WR Rueben Randle seems like the safer bet for consistent numbers.
