Pierre Thomas to be released by New Orleans Played all eight of his NFL seasons with the Saints By: Mike Krueger | Mar 4 2015, 5:01 pm
The New Orleans Saints will release veteran running back Pierre Thomas, a league source confirmed to NOLA.com | The Times-Picayune on Wednesday. Thomas, 30, has played all eight of his NFL seasons with the Saints after signing with the team in 2007 as a little-known undrafted free agent. (The Times-Picayune )
FFToday's Take:The Saints are reportedly $22 million over the salary cap so more cuts and contract re-negotiations are expected. The Saints currently have Khiry Robinson, Edwin Baker and Tim Hightower on the roster as Mark Ingram is a free agent. Travaris Cadet is a restricted free agent and should be back with the team, replacing Thomas as the receiving back in the offense.
