Cowboys place franchise tag on Dez Bryant Long term deal still in discussion By: Mike Krueger | Mar 2 2015, 1:50 pm
The Cowboys have put the franchise tender on Dez Bryant, submitting the paperwork necessary to the NFL office, a source confirmed.
The move comes as no surprise. The tender prevents Bryant from hitting the free agent market in eight days and guarantees him $12.82 million for the 2015 season as the two sides continue to work on a long-term contract. (Dallas Morning News)
FFToday's Take:A long term contract can still be worked out until July 15 when the franchise tender becomes permanent for the season. Bryant has three straight 1,200-yard, 12-touchdown catch seasons.
