Rams promote Frank Cignetti to OC
Official announcement coming next week

The St. Louis Rams are staying in-house for their next offensive coordinator. Although an official announcement is not expected until next week, the team confirmed Thursday night that coach Jeff Fisher is promoting quarterbacks coach Frank Cignetti to offensive coordinator. (ESPN)

FFToday's Take: This will be Cignetti's first opportunity to run an offense in the NFL. The Rams were rumored to be interested in Kyle Shanahan, Rob Chudzinski and Adam Gase for the OC position but all took other positions. Cignetti will have his hands full given the lack of consistency at the quarterback position. The Rams have ranked 23rd and 27th in passing offense the last two seasons.
