Mariota shaping up to be No. 1 pick?
Bucs could be drawn to mobility, character of Oregon QB
By: Doug Orth | Jan 29 2015, 3:05 pm

Many NFL executives and scouts believe Florida State's Jameis Winston is the best pro quarterback prospect in this draft. Of course, teams still have three months to dig into Winston's past and see what they can uncover. Plus, there's a real sense that Tampa Bay has its sights set on Oregon quarterback Marcus Mariota. So for now, Mariota shapes up as the most likely No. 1 pick. But there are still three months of combine work, pro days, interviews and investigations to go. (ESPN)

FFToday's Take: Winston is widely recognized as the most "pro-ready" quarterback while Mariota has very little experience taking snaps under center. With that said, Mariota brings no red flags off the field and is a great athlete - two areas he enjoys a significant advantage over Winston. New OC Dirk Koetter - the former Falcons' play-caller - is a creative offensive mind that might enjoy the lack of headaches Mariota is unlikely to create. Expect this debate to be hashed out ad nausem over the next three months.
