Ryan Fitzpatrick to start for Houston
Texans sign Thad Lewis, place Mallett on IR
By: Jake Gordon | Nov 26 2014, 4:52 pm

HOUSTON -- The Texans placed quarterback Ryan Mallett on injured reserve on Wednesday, meaning Ryan Fitzpatrick will start on Sunday against the Tennessee Titans. Fitzpatrick started the first nine games, with a 4-5 record, before being benched during the bye week in favor of Mallett, who went 1-1 as the starter. Also on Wednesday, the Texans signed free-agent quarterback Thad Lewis, who was released by the Bills in training camp (ESPN.com)

FFToday's Take: Despite keeping things conservative through the air, Ryan Fitzpatrick has thrown at least one touchdown pass in eight of his nine starts this season. He has enough weapons to provide fantasy owners with QB2 production but doesn't bring much upside to the table. To add depth to the roster in the wake of Mallett's injury the team signed Thad Lewis, while rookie Tom Savage presumably takes over the backup role behind Fitzpatrick.
