Julius Thomas' ankle injury not serious
Day-to-day; appears to have avoided high ankle sprain
By: Doug Orth | Nov 17 2014, 6:15 pm

The early diagnosis is the ankle injury to Broncos TE Julius Thomas is not as bad as initially feared. Thomas injured his ankle in the first quarter of the Broncos' 22-7 loss at St. Louis on Sunday and did not return. He underwent a MRI Monday morning. It might be difficult for Thomas to play Sunday against the Miami Dolphins in the Broncos' first home game in a month, but his injury status is considered day-to-day. (Denver Post)

FFToday's Take: He appears to have avoided the dreaded "high ankle sprain", which is what was initially feared. Even with that bit of good news, the rash of injuries - including the concussion suffered by Emmanuel Sanders - comes at a bad time for Denver with Miami playing so well on defense lately. Thomas' owners in a pinch could opt for Peyton Manning favorite Jacob Tamme, although he is a replacement-level player at best at this stage of his career.
