| Toby Gerhart still in mix for bulk of carries? With Storm Johnson on carry count, Gerhart could reclaim job By: Antonio D'Arcangelis | Oct 14 2014, 12:15 pm
| Running back Storm Johnson carried 10 times in Sunday’s loss, his first career start and second game. That was exactly the amount of work Bradley planned for the rookie to handle.
“Our whole intent was to get Storm 10 carries and he got 10 carries,” Bradley said.
Johnson gained 21 yards and scored on a 1-yard touchdown run. His longest carry went for 7 yards. The seventh-round pick from Central Florida also caught a screen pass for a 4-yard loss.
“His toughness and things like that were there,” Bradley said. “But, there’s a couple of areas and just his overall reads and where we actually want the play to hit. He hit it more front side where he could bring it backside, so things like that.”
On the season, Johnson has carried 14 times for 48 yards.

FFToday's Take: It appears that Gerhart isn't quite dead in the water, but you'll have to suspend disbelief a bit to imagine him meeting even 80 percent of the preseason expectations heaped on him. It's a fluid situation, but the entire backfield is a mess.
