Jerick McKinnon gets the start over Asiata
Vikings shake up running back depth chart
By: Mike Krueger | Oct 12 2014, 11:30 pm

Jerick McKinnon was informed during the week that he would start against the Lions, and he did. “I tried to prepare myself the best for it, really dial in, focus in on my assignment and make sure that I was on top of everything,” McKinnon said. McKinnon gained 40 yards on 11 rushes and had a team-high six catches for 42 yards. Matt Asiata, meanwhile, got two carries for minus-5 yards. (Minneapolis Star Tribune)

FFToday's Take: The Vikings kept their depth chart change quiet leading up to Week 6. McKinnon has more athletic ability than Asiata and provides a home-run threat that Asiata doesn't possess. McKinnon has RB3 value until the Vikings prove they can move the ball on a consistent basis.
