RG3 out indefinitely with dislocated ankle
Team believes he will return at some point in 2014

| Robert Griffin III will have a cast put on his dislocated ankle but it remains unclear how long the quarterback will be sidelined, coach Jay Gruden said Monday. “We’ll know in a few more weeks how long he’ll be out,” Gruden said. Gruden said Griffin did not suffer any fractures or ligament damage and he would not be put on season-ending injured reserve, but the coach did not offer any timetable for a potential return. He said he does believe Griffin will be back this season.

FFToday's Take: Griffin and the team hopes he can make it back in 4-5 weeks, but that seems overly optimistic at this point. Furthermore, the team may be tempted to stretch it if Cousins can continue to perform well in the interim. It would be a surprise if Griffin can make it back before midseason, so owners in leagues with short benches may be forced to release him. Cousins should be a more-than-adequate replacement while he is recovering.
