Asiata set to make third career start Will replace Adrian Peterson in starting lineup By: Mike Krueger | Sep 13 2014, 7:00 am
Matt Asiata is expected to start in Peterson’s absence Sunday, with rookie Jerick McKinnon serving as the backup. Asiata, in his third season, will make his third career start. The previous two starts occurred in the final two games last season, when Peterson and Toby Gerhart were inactive with injuries. (Minneapolis Star Tribune)
FFToday's Take:Even with Peterson out of the lineup, the Vikings should focus on the running game against the Patriots who gave up 193 yards to Knowshon Moreno and Lamar Miller last week. Asiata should touch the ball 20 times with the rookie McKinnon playing a complementary role.
