Vick Ballard likely out for the season
Torn Achilles, MRI pending
By: Mike Krueger | Jul 25 2014, 9:00 pm

Two days into training camp and the Colts already are dealing with their first major injury. Running back Vick Ballard, only now returning from season-ending knee surgery last September, suffered what team owner Jim Irsay said is a likely torn left Achilles tendon during a non-contact drill Friday. FFToday's Take: Ballard will have an MRI to confirm the diagnosis but it sounds like he will be lost for the season. He was active for one game in 2013 before suffering an ACL injury. Trent Richardson and Ahmad Bradshaw remain the top two options at running back for the Colts. Chris Rainey and Dan Herron are also on the roster.
