Marshawn Lynch to skip Seahawks minicamp?
Reasoning unclear
By: Mike Krueger | Jun 12 2014, 7:00 am

When the Seattle Seahawks convene for mandatory minicamp next week, the team doesn't expect star running back Marshawn Lynch to be there, according to sources familiar with the team's thinking. Lynch reportedly hasn't appeared at any of the team's voluntary organized team activities (OTAs) thus far, is thought to be unhappy with his contract, though it's not clear if that is the only football-related reason the running back is considering skipping or reporting late to minicamp. FFToday's Take: Lynch is set to earn $5 million this season and $5.5 million in 2015. He's skipped voluntary workouts before but has never missed a mandatory session in his career. It's hard to comment on this topic until we understand Lynch's reasoning, but he's not likely to get a renegotiated deal considering the league-wide decline in running back salaries. Perhaps he's miffed at the prospect of Christine Michael eating into his workload.
