Kapernick signs six-year extension with 49ers
$61 million guaranteed
By: Mike Krueger | Jun 4 2014, 8:33 pm

Colin Kaepernick and the San Francisco 49ers struck a deal Wednesday on a six-year contract extension including a record $61 million guaranteed. "I really expect a real breakout year for Colin. Athletically, he looks bionic," Harbaugh said during the organized team activity last week. (ESPN)

FFToday's Take: Kaepernick's deal is structured so that other players such as wideout Michael Crabtree, guards Mike Iupati and Alex Boone and tight end Vernon Davis, will have room to sign new deals themselves. It's a big payday for a non-Super Bowl winning QB but a team friendly deal at the same time. With a healthy Crabtree and the addition of Steve Johnson to the receiving corps, Kaepernick's fantasy stock is on the rise.
