Falcons expected to use more 3-WR sets Atlanta to use a more traditional TE now that Gonzalez is gone By: Mike Krueger | May 11 2014, 3:10 pm
“There’ll be a change in the type of tight end we’ll have on our roster,” Falcons coach Mike Smith said. “We’ll have a ‘Y’ tight end, where he’ll be an inline player (lined up tight to the formation). They won’t be moving around nearly as much as what we call a ‘F.’ Tony Gonzalez was more of a ‘F’ tight end than a ‘Y’ tight end.” (Atlanat Journal Constitution)
FFToday's Take:Levine Toilolo is expected to be the Falcons starter at TE but don't expect him to put up Gonzalez-like numbers. He'll be used more as a blocker than Gonzalez ever was, meaning the Falcons are likely to focus the aerial attack on Julio Jones, Roddy White and Harry Douglas. Douglas is on the fantasy radar as a WR4.
