Texans asking price for the No. 1 pick
GM Rick Smith wants to move down
By: Mike Krueger | May 8 2014, 10:31 am

Rick Smith has made it perfectly clear that the Texans are interested in trading the No. 1 overall pick in tonight’s first round. And here’s what the Texans’ general manager is asking for, according to our John McClain. 1. Swap first-round picks this year 2. A second- and third-round pick this year 3. A first-round pick in 2015 (Houston Chronicle)

FFToday's Take: That's a steep price but a trade would also depend on what team is trading up. In 2012, The Redskins paid a big price to move up from pick No. 6 to pick No. 2 to acquire QB Robert Griffin III. The Redskins gave up No. 6, a 2012 second-rounder, plus first-rounders in 2013 and 2014. GM Rick Smith's desire to move out of the top pick will likely push his asking price down as we get closer 8 pm ET.
