49ers RB absent from offseason program LaMichael James working out in Texas By: Mike Krueger | Apr 21 2014, 9:30 am
Running back LaMichael James, whose future with the 49ers remains murky, is in Texas to train on his own at the start of the team’s voluntary offseason conditioning program, according to a source. The 49ers’ official offseason program began Monday. The first two weeks of activities are devoted to players working solely with strength and conditioning coach Mark Uyeyama and his staff. FFToday's Take:There's been speculation that the 49ers RB may be traded and that James may welcome the change. He's played sparingly during his first two years in the league and with Marcus Lattimore poised to make a significant contribution this season along with Frank Gore and Kendall Hunter, James is the odd man out.
