GM Dave Caldwell traded Blaine Gabbert, the 10th-overall pick in the 2011 draft, to San Francisco on Tuesday for a sixth-round pick in May’s draft and a conditional pick in 2015 based on playing time. (Florida Times Union)

FFToday's Take: Gabbert never grabbed ahold of the starting job in Jacksonville due to injury and poor play. His acumen as an NFL QB is in question but he will have an opportunity to rejuvenate his career in San Francisco under head coach Jim Harbaugh, in a run-first offense.
