Eagles release Jason Avant Save over $3 million against the cap By: Mike Krueger | Mar 4 2014, 3:00 pm
The Philadelphia Eagles have released veteran wide receiver Jason Avant. Avant, 30, has spent his entire eight-year career with Philadelphia and developed into a reliable receiver for the Eagles. The 6-foot Avant had 38 catches for 447 yards and two touchdowns last season. (ESPN)
FFToday's Take:The Eagles have re-signed Riley Cooper and Jeremy Maclin this off-season and this move saves over $3 million against the cap in 2014. Avant will look to sign with a team that needs a veteran leader in the receiving corps. His fantasy value is hovering in WR5 territory at best.
