Smith active, Jonathan Stewart out Williams and Tolbert to handle running back duties By: Mike Krueger | Jan 12 2014, 11:35 am
Jonathan Stewart said multiple times this week he was running comfortably in practice with little to no pain, but the running back will not play Sunday for the Panthers.
Stewart is inactive for Carolina's home playoff game against San Francisco. He has not played since spraining his MCL against New Orleans in Week 14. It should come as no surprise that wide receiver Steve Smith is active. (Charlotte Observer)
FFToday's Take:Stewart was expected to play today so this comes as a bit of a surprise. DeAngelo Williams and Mike Tolbert will continue handling running back duties for the Panthers. Smith (knee) is not a recommended fantasy play.
