Keenum out, Matt Schaub to start Texans to have new starting QB and RB for Week 16 By: Mike Krueger | Dec 18 2013, 1:10 pm
Matt Schaub will start at quarterback against Denver on Sunday because Case Keenum has ligament damage in his right thumb, Texans interim coach Wade Phillips said Wednesday.
Phillips said Keenum suffered the injury when he was sacked for the fourth and last time in Sunday’s 25-3 loss at Indianapolis. Keenum’s thumb was in a splint today at practice, and he couldn’t participate. (Houston Chronicle)
FFToday's Take:Schaub starting at QB may benefit Andre Johnson more than anyone as Case Keenum has struggled in recent weeks. Schaub and the Texans should be playing from behind most of the day giving Schaub and AJ garbage time value.
