RB Stewart suffers MCL injury
HC Rivera expects RB to "miss a few weeks"
By: Doug Orth | Dec 9 2013, 3:35 pm

The Carolina Panthers went seven games with Jonathan Stewart to start this season and they'll be without him for a few more after the running back injured his MCL in Sunday night's 31-13 loss to New Orleans. Stewart suffered an MCL injury and will not play this week. Panthers coach Ron Rivera said Stewart would get evaluated in 10 days and added it's possible Stewart could return in the regular season finale at Atlanta. Rivera said he was unsure how serious the MCL injury was, but he was certain Stewart's ACL was not affected. (Charlotte Observer)

FFToday's Take: Stewart sat out the first seven games of the season while on the PUP list following offseason ankle surgery. He suffered a high ankle sprain last year in Week 12 against Philadelphia and did not play again. He has also been dogged by toe injuries throughout his career. DeAngelo Williams and Mike Tolbert will return to splitting carries yet again.
