Doug Martin out indefinitely-- Mon Oct 21 2:35 pm --
Torn labrum, likely out for the season
Buccaneers running back Doug Martin suffered a torn labrum in his left shoulder in Sunday's loss to the Falcons and is expected to be out for an indefinite period.
The Bucs are hopeful the injury is not season-ending and do not plan to place him on the injured reserve at this time.
Martin was injured attempting to catch a pass in the third quarter of Sunday's game in Atlanta. He did not return. (Tampa Bay Times)
FF Today's Take:Martin's disappointing second season is hardly all his fault given all the chaos in Tampa Bay, even if owners won't remember it that way. For what it is worth, HC Greg Schiano said Monday that he does not believe the injury is season-ending. Mike James was featured after the injury and is an asset as a receiver out of the backfield, meaning he should be able to maintain low-end RB2 upside in Martin's absence.
