|"Turbo package" leads to Helu's big day -- Mon Oct 21 2:30 pm --|
Game plan resulted in Helu's three-score Week 7
|After sitting out most of the 2012 season with an Achilles injury, Roy Helu's status was uncertain entering 2013. But through six games for the Skins this season, Helu has provided a great option as the change-of-pace running back, and perhaps showed he's ready for more work. Against the Chicago Bears, Helu ran for 41 yards on 11 carries to go with the three scores.
Sunday's game plan dictated that Helu get more playing time, as the team went to its "turbo" offensive package often. In that package, Helu gets much of the work. (CSN Washington)|
FF Today's Take: It's not a secret that Helu is a more well-rounded back than Alfred Morris, but there is little reason to suspect a reoccurrence of HC Mike Shanahan's tendency to play mind games at running back. What it does suggest is that Morris will be more of a top-end RB22oing forward and Helu will be a top-end flex because of Washington's poor defense.
