|Vikings secondary to face major tests -- Tue Jul 30 12:35 pm --|
Great QB opponents, no proven shutdown DB
|"The non-NFC North portion of their 2013 schedule also offers an eclectic mix of quarterback savvy with the likes of Ben Roethlisberger, Cam Newton, Eli Manning, Tony Romo, Robert Griffin III, Russell Wilson and Joe Flacco. And, of course, that says nothing of the laundry list of top-shelf receivers on the docket." (StarTribune)|
FF Today's Take: Rodgers. Cutler. Stafford. Those are their NFC North opponents, whom they will play twice. Combined with those listed teams, the Minnesota Vikings will face quite an aerial assault this season. Combine that with losing Antoine Winfield, Chris Cook's injury history, and an proven player (rookie Xavier Rhodes) at the CB2 position, and the potential to give up lots of yards and lots of points is certainly there. The Green Bay Packers made that work for them during their latest Super Bowl year, but the chances of that happening aren't great with Christian Ponder at QB.
