Steelers have five days to match, or receive 3rd round pick
The New England Patriots on Wednesday signed Pittsburgh Steelers restricted free-agent wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders to an offer sheet, a league source said. The source said the offer sheet is a one-year deal. The Steelers have five days to decide whether to match the offer or let Sanders go to the Patriots and receive a third-round draft choice from New England in return. (ESPN)
FF Today's Take:The Steelers have a dicey cap situation which may push them into taking the 3rd round pick from New England and letting Sanders go. That would leave them very thin at wide receiver with Antonio Brown, Jerricho Cotchery and Plaxico Burress as the top three wideouts. Wide receiver will be a priority for Pittsburgh in the upcoming NFL Draft.
