Dolphins taking aim at FA Mike Wallace -- Wed Feb 20 8:00 pm --
Speedy WR could be on his way out of Pittsburgh | With dynamic offensive playmakers a desperate need, the Miami Dolphins have pegged the Pittsburgh Steelers' Mike Wallace as their top choice to fill a gaping void at wide receiver, the South Florida Sun Sentinel's Omar Kelly reported Tuesday, citing multiple sources. Green Bay Packers wideout Greg Jennings has been the soon-to-be free-agent receiver most often linked to the Dolphins, given his familiarity with coach Joe Philbin from Philbin's days in Green Bay. However, Jennings' injuries and age could be deterrents, even if he would be a cheaper option. (NFL.com)
FF Today's Take: Wallace leaving town is not a done deal by any means, but if he does leave then the Steelers' will need to address his vacancy at receiver either through free agency or at the NFL draft. The team that acquires Wallace's services will get an inconsistent but elusive playmaker with a higher top gear than virtually every other player in the league.
