Chiefs release Breaston and Boss-- Tue Feb 19 7:00 pm -- Breaston signed five-year, $22.5 million deal in 2011
The Kansas City Chiefs have released wide receiver Steve Breaston and tight end Kevin Boss as part of their roster overhaul under new coach Andy Reid and general manager John Dorsey. Breaston was lured to Kansas City in 2011 by former coach Todd Haley and general manager Scott Pioli, and signed a $22.5 million, five-year deal. (AP)
FF Today's Take:Despite a lack of talent in the receiving corps, Breaston was inactive for numerous games in the 2012 season and no reason was ever given for Breaston not seeing the field. He'll likely catch on elsewhere (reunion with Todd Haley in Pittsburgh?) assuming his health is intact.
